Books I’ve Read for Class Lately

Sorry I haven’t posted in a while. I’ve been completely swamped with coursework and applications lately. Plus, it’s almost the end of the year and unfortunately I had to lower my goal of 50 books down to 34 to stay on track during the year. I still have 4 more books to reach my goal, but I’ll try to push through a couple today and tomorrow.

Anyways, I made an unwritten rule for myself that I could count books I read for class, but I wouldn’t necessarily review them unless I really enjoyed it.

This is really just an update post since I haven’t reviewed any books lately, so here are some books I recently read for class:

No Exit by Jean-Paul Sartre

Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky

I really enjoyed No Exit. I thought it was funny that a couple days after I read it, there was the Twilight Zone marathon on Thanksgiving day. I was watching “Five Characters in Search of an Exit” and without knowing the title of the episode, I realized that it was a No Exit-inspired episode. The episode was also inspired by Six Characters in Search of an Author, which I previously hadn’t heard of until I read about the episode on Wikipedia. I inserted the episode if you’d like to watch it.

Crime and Punishment was really hard to get through. I mean, I probably would have enjoyed it had it not been so long and drawn out. I realize it was all important to the plot and all, but it was really hard for me to get through the book. It just wasn’t my cup of tea.

If I don’t get a chance to post an update or a review before the new year, I hope y’all have a great New Year’s and enjoyed your Christmas or Hanukkah or other holiday!
